Country Style Red Salsa (Mexican type)

Ingredients

    • 6 ripe tomatoes

    • 1 small onion

    • 3 cloves of garlic

    • 1 to 2 chilies (jalapeño or serrano)

    • 1 handful of chopped fresh cilantro

    • 2 tablespoons of lemon juice

  • Salt to taste

  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil (optional)

Preparation

  1. Brown the tomatoes, onion, garlic, and chilies in a frying pan, griddle, or grill.

  2. Put everything in the blender and process just enough to maintain a rustic texture.

  3. Add the cilantro, lemon juice, and salt. Mix well.

  4. Let it rest for 30 minutes in the refrigerator to develop more flavor.

  5. I served it with tacos, meats, quesadillas, or nachos.
