I've seen discussions here about searing the meat before putting it in the slow cooker. I don't do this, but this time I did it just to try it. I seasoned the chicken with salt and pepper, then seared it on both sides.
I added everything to the slow cooker except the pasta and parsley. I simmered it for 8 hours. After 7.5 hours, I shredded the chicken, put it back in, and added the pasta. When the pasta was almost done, I added the parsley.
