What does the presence of two dimples in the lower back mean?

These small, symmetrical depressions just above the pelvis are an inherited anatomical feature, just like the shape of the ears or the curve of the eyebrows. They reveal nothing particular about health or personality: they are simply part of the natural diversity of the human body.

Why do they appear?

Venus dimples exist due to a natural attachment between the skin and a bony area of the pelvis. Here's the gist:

  • They depend exclusively on genetics.
  • They are sometimes more visible in thin or muscular people, but this is not a rule.
  • It is impossible to "create" them if they are not part of your anatomy: exercise can make them more visible, but cannot make them appear.

And what about the "Apollo holes"?

In some people, particularly men, two similar dimples are observed. These are sometimes called Apollo's holes.
This is not a different phenomenon: it is the same anatomical feature, visible in a variety of body types.
